Bruin Volleyball signs seven for 2025

The Bellevue University volleyball program under head coach Trish Siedlik announced seven additions who will join the Bruins in 2025. 

The newest Bruins include outside hitter/rightside hitter A'Lailah Perry (Algona, Iowa), rightside hitter Sophia McIntyre (Overland Park, Kan.), defensive specialist Jamison Badje (Omaha, Neb.), defensive specialist Zoie Roghair (Sioux Falls, S.D.), outside hitter Bentlee Kollbaum (Elk Point, S.D.), outside hitter Kamryn Scheib (Des Moines, Iowa), and middle hitter Payton Dzingle (Kearney, Neb.).

The Bruins wrapped up the 2024 season as the NAIA National Runner-Up with an overall record of 32-5. Bellevue captured the North Star Athletic Association regular season and post-season tournament titles while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the 17th time in school history. Their second-place finish at Nationals was the best showing in school history. Bellevue finished the season ranked No. 2 in the final NAIA top 25 poll. Head coach Trish Siedlik was named both the NAIA and AVCA National Coach of the Year.  

A'Lailah Perry, 5-10, Outside Hitter/Rightside Hitter, Algona, Iowa (Northern State/Algona HS)

  • Played two seasons at NCAA Division II Northern State University.
  • Tallied 280 kills, 243 digs, 28 service aces, and 27 blocks during her senior season at Algona High School under head coach Missy Birkey.
  • Finished her high school career with 868 kills, 606 digs, 66 aces, and 144 blocks.
  • Named a three-time all-conference and all-area selection in volleyball.
  • Played club volleyball for Iowa Power Plex and Ignite under coaches Emilio Mendoza and Molly MacQueeney.
  • Qualified for the USA Volleyball Nationals for three consecutive years (2021 in Las Vegas, 2022 in Indianapolis, and 2023 in Columbus).
  • Excelled in basketball as a two-time all-conference and all-area player.
  • State qualifier in track and field in the shot put and discus.
  • Recognized academically on the honor roll for six quarters and on the Dean's List for two semesters. 
  • Daughter of Beth and Corey Johnson and Vince Perry

Coach Siedlik: "A marketable addition to the team that can step in and hit in all three positions in the front row. She is most helpful on the pins and will add depth, power, and experience coming from a highly respected D2 program. AP is driven, responsible, and ready to contribute."

Sophia McIntyre, 5-10, Rightside Hitter, Overland Park, Kan. (Arkansas-Fort Smith/Blue Valley North HS)

  • Transfer from NCAA Division II Arkansas-Fort Smith
  • Earned Lone Star Conference (LSC) Offensive Player of the Week honors on November 14, 2023, after pounding 23 kills in wins over Midwestern State and Texas Woman's while hitting .488.
  • Recognized academically on the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll and Academic Honor Roll.
  • Played club volleyball for MAVS under coach Molly Burns.
  • Helped her club team qualify for the 2023 Liberty Nationals in Columbus, Ohio, and the 2022 Liberty Nationals in Indianapolis, Ind. 
  • Prepped at Blue Valley North High School under head coach Matt Allen.
  • Earned all-Eastern Kansas League honorable mention honors and totaled 126 kills and 46 blocks in her senior season.
  • Daughter of Beth and Doug McIntyre.

Coach Siedlik: "A lefty with flash, power, and craftiness. Sophia can provide options, and as a left-handed attacker that our team can learn and use to make us better and more dangerous as an NAIA powerhouse. She is an animated player with ambition beyond the court and in the classroom." 

  

Jamison Badje, 5-4, Defensive Specialist, Omaha, Neb. (Douglas County West HS)

  • Recorded 190 digs, 161 kills, 26 assists, 24 aces, and 7 blocks during her senior season at Douglas County West High School under coach Bob Wald.
  • Finished her high school career with 506 digs, 521 kills, 40 assists, 102 aces, and 69 blocks.
  • Earned First-Team All-Conference honors in 2024.
  • Named All-State Honorable Mention in both 2023 and 2024.
  • Recognized by the Omaha World-Herald as an all-Omaha Area honorable mention selection in 2023 and 2024.
  • Academic standout, earning academic all-conference honors from 2021 to 2024.
  • Honor Roll recipient for 14 quarters throughout high school.
  • Competed in track for three years, earning three varsity letters.
  • Daughter of Tad and Shelly Badje.  

Coach Siedlik: "Jamison is all athlete. She is fast, has a great jump, but most of all, her ceiling has not even been met. We are excited to have her come in, learn, and compete. A team player who is all in on being a part of a successful program to continue her career. Jamison is also a sand player, and we are looking forward to her defense joining this group!"

 

Zoie Roghair, 5-6, Defensive Specialist, Sioux Falls, S.D. (Sioux Falls O'Gorman HS)

  • Played at Sioux Falls Bishop O'Gorman High School under coach Cale Hecht.
  • Tallied 179 digs, 36 assists, and 24 aces during her senior season in 2024.
  • Finished her high school career with 395 digs, 71 assists, and 64 aces.
  • Helped her team to a third-place finish in Class AA at the 2024 South Dakota High School State Tournament and a fourth-place finish in 2023.
  • Selected to the NCR All-Star Team in 2024.
  • Played club volleyball for Kairos Volleyball Club under coach Jim Abbott, averaging 500 digs per season.
  • Daughter of Ronan and Linda Roghair. 

Coach Siedlik: "Zoie comes from well-respected high school and club programs. We saw her very early in her high school career and, over the years, knew she would be a great candidate to join our team. Just one of those players that you can't pass up because of her presence around others. It was a long wait for sure to finally be able to call her a Bruin! Her ball control, her positive attitude, and her volleyball IQ will be relied on in the fall."

 

Bentlee Kollbaum, 5-11, Outside Hitter, Elk Point, S.D. (Elk Point Jefferson HS)

  • Recorded 481 kills, 319 digs, 52 aces, and 10 blocks during her senior season at Elk Point-Jefferson High School under head coach Alicia Loiland.
  • Finished her high school career with 1,283 kills, 1,092 digs, and 110 aces, setting school records for single-season kills (481) and career kills (1,283).
  • Became the first player in school history to achieve 1,000 career kills and digs.
  • Named a South Dakota Miss Volleyball nominee in her senior year.
  • Selected to the South Dakota High School All-Star Team and earned all-state first-team honors.
  • A four-time team captain, recognized as her team's Offensive MVP for four consecutive years.
    Earned Dak 12 all-conference first-team honors in 2024 and MVP awards in two tournaments during her senior season.
  • Excelled in multiple sports, including basketball (4-year letter winner, Dak 12 third team honors twice) and track (school record holder in javelin, four-time state high jump finalist, and two-time Dak 12 javelin champion).
  • Placed fourth all-time in South Dakota high school history for javelin throw with a mark of 132'5".
  • Academic standout, named to the Honor Roll for seven semesters, and participated in National and International Science Fairs, earning multiple accolades.
  • Member of the National Honor Society and served as Student Body President in her senior year. 
  • Daughter of Allan and Traci Kollbaum.

Coach Siedlik: "Bentlee is a three-sport athlete who has impressed us with her heavy arm. She is a smart, all-around player who will add more depth to the outside position. Looking forward to having that support in our already existing arsenal. She is a proven winner in her other activities as well, which has made her resume so impressive." 

 

Kamryn Scheib, 5-10, Outside Hitter, Des Moines, Iowa (Ankeny HS)

  • Recorded 316 kills, 304 digs, 37 aces, and 38 blocks during her senior season at Ankeny High School under head coach Liz Baethke.
  • Finished her high school career with 617 kills, 508 digs, 70 aces, and 70 blocks.
  • Earned all-state honors in both 2023 and 2024.
  • Named to the all-district team in 2023 and 2024.
  • Selected to the Iowa High School All-Star team in 2024.
  • Academic standout, recognized as a member of the academic all-conference squad in 2023 and 2024.
  • Excelled in soccer, earning all-state and all-district honors in 2024.
  • Qualified for club nationals for five consecutive years (2020–2024) with Iowa Impact under coach Scarlett Molina. 
  • Daughter of Amy Carlsen, Tim Scheib, Travis Carlsen, and Rachel Scheib.

Coach Siedlik: "Kam is a player that you watch and gets it done. Coming from a successful high school team, she has been in big pressure moments and handled those situations with ease. Her ball control, her shot control, along with power, will complement the Bruins." 

 

Payton Dzingle, 5-10, Middle Hitter, Kearney, Neb. (Kearney Catholic HS)

  • Prepped at Kearney Catholic High School under coach Robbie Jochum.
  • Registered 381 kills and 63 blocks during her senior season.
  • Honored by the Lincoln Journal-Star with first-team all-state honors in her senior season.
  • Earned first-team all-Centennial Conference honors.
  • Named to the all-tournament team at the Centennial Conference Tournament.
  • Named to the Kearney Hub all-territory first team.
  • Helped Kearney Catholic to runner-up finishes in Class C1 at the Nebraska State Tournament in 2023 and 2021 and to a semifinal appearance in 2024.
  • State qualifier in track, placing fourth in the 200 (25.81), sixth in the 100 (12.48), and sixth in the 400 (58.85).
  • Member of the state championship 4x100 meter relay team (48.38). 
  • Played club volleyball for Nebraska Pride under coach Maddie Squiers, helping her team to an appearance in the 2023 USA Girls Junior National Championship in Chicago, Ill. 
  • Daughter of Kevin and Andrea Dzingle. 

Coach Siedlik: "Payton is a player that is exciting to watch. Her jump and quick up off the floor elevation in the middle is what really drew us to her. She runs the slide smooth and is smart with her control on that speed of set. During her senior high school season, she played outside but said that she is a middle at heart. We loved that she had that experience and looking forward to her joining the team."
