BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of 5-9 setter Victoria Runyan (Indianola, Iowa/Indianola HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall of 2024.

The daughter of Bryan and Erika Runyan, Tori played for coach Kent Halstead at Indianola High School, where she helped lead the Indians to a runner-up finish at the 2023 Iowa State Tournament in Class 4A. She earned first-team all-state and all-district honors and was a member of the all-tournament team at the state tournament.

A two-time first-team all-conference selection, Runyan ranked second in the state of Iowa in 2023 with 1,106 set assists. She set the Iowa high school volleyball record in Class 4A for the most set assists in a match with 63.

A four-year varsity starter, Runyan finished her high school career as the school record holder with 2,482 career assists.

"We are so excited to have Tori be a Bruin," said Siedlik. I saw her in the Iowa State Tournament and took a chance if she still was unsigned. To my advantage, she was not ready to make a decision at all, and we were so lucky to have the opportunity to tell her more about us! She is definitely going to add depth to the setting position, which is something that we need for this next year in order to be successful. We need every position to have a competition! We can't wait to get her on campus!"

Runyan played club volleyball for Roots Volleyball Academy and Club Ignit Select for coaches Raphael Boahen and Andrea Vignovich where she helped her teams qualify for USAV Nationals in 2022 and 2023.

The Bruins wrapped up the 2023 season with an overall record of 26-10, finishing second in the North Star Athletic Association regular season and post-season tournament while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the 16th time in school history.
