GREENWOOD, Ind. -- The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2023 women's volleyball Academic All-District teams Tuesday afternoon, and the Bruins had three student-athletes recognized.

Student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, and III, as well as the NAIA, were recognized for this honor.

Representing Bellevue University on the CSC Women's Volleyball Academic All-District team were junior middle blocker Haley Fleischman (Overton, Neb.), redshirt sophomore outside hitter Eve Fountain (Omaha, Neb.), and junior rightside hitter Sidney Sledge (Omaha, Neb.).

Fleischman, who is majoring in Health and Human Performance, has a 3.813 cumulative GPA. She earned first-team all-NSAA honors for the second time in her BU career and led the team with a .291 attack percentage and 101 total blocks. Fleischman earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors for the second straight season in 2023.

Fountain earned first-team all-NSAA honors for the third time in her BU career. She was third on the team with 325 kills and second with 364 digs. Fountain led the Bruins with 41 service aces. She became the ninth player in school history to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career. Earlier this season, Fountain earned her third Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete accolade.

Sledge earned second-team all-NSAA honors in 2023. She was fourth on the team with 245 kills and a .228 hitting efficiency. She registered eight matches with double-figure kill totals. Sledge earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors for the second straight season in 2023.

To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a sophomore both academically and athletically. They must have competed in 90% of the institution's games/contests/sets played or must start in at least 66% of the games/contests/sets. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must have a minimum of 3.50 for both their graduate program GPA and their undergraduate GPA.

All three student-athletes will move onto the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with the announcement of those teams coming out on January 9.

The Bruins wrapped up the 2023 season with an overall record of 26-10, finishing second in the North Star Athletic Association regular season and post-season tournament while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the 16th time in school history.
