2022-23 USMC/AVCA Team Academic Awards
LEXINGTON, Ky. - For the 10th time in school history, the Bellevue University volleyball team has earned the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2022-23 academic year, the USMC/AVCA announced today. In total, over 1,332 teams across all high school and collegiate divisions earned the academic award.
BU Volleyball combined for a 3.46 team GPA for the 2022-23 academic year. Two Bruins (Kenzie Polk and Audrey Sandfort) earned a perfect 4.0, while six Bruins earned a 3.75 GPA or above.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
"The commitment our coaches make to help their student-athletes pursue the best versions of themselves is evident in the academic accomplishments highlighted today." said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "Achievement on the court has always been closely tied to success in the classroom which is reflected by the number of championship programs honored."
The 2022-23 award was earned by several teams that also won national collegiate championships on the court and in the sand during the 2022–23 season:
West Texas A&M (Women's NCAA Division II)
Juniata College (Women's NCAA Division III)

Bob Jones University (NCCAA Division II)
Feather River College (CCCAA)
