
For the fourth time in her career, junior Olivia Galas has been named the NAIA National Setter of the Week for her performances over the weekend in helping lead the Bruins to a pair of road sweeps at Presentation and Mayville State.
Galas, who also earned her second North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week nod this season and the 19th of her career, averaged an astronomical 17.88 assists per set in the two sweeps. In the win over Presentation, she dished out 52 assists, while adding four kills and five digs.
Galas set a "rally-scoring era" school record in the sweep over Mayville State with the most assists in a three-set match, finishing with 55 assists in the 3-0 BU victory. She added 11 digs for her fourth double-double of the season, while also collecting three kills, two blocks, and a service ace.
In the latest NAIA national statistics, Galas ranks fourth nationally with 11.65 set assists per set.
The Bruins (11-2, 3-0 NSAA) will host Peru State College tonight at 7 p.m. in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
