BISMARCK, N.D. -- Freshman outside hitter Eve Fountain and junior setter Olivia Galas were both honored Monday by the North Star Athletic Association office, helping the Bruins sweep the weekly conference volleyball awards. Fountain was named both the NSAA Attacker and Defender of the Week. Galas was honored as the NSAA Setter of the Week as BU earned a pair of conference road victories over the weekend, sweeping Presentation and Mayville State.

The two awards for Fountain marked the first time in school history that a Bruin has won two separate honors in the same week.

Defensively, Fountain averaged 6.83 digs per set in the Bruins' two victories, while also recording a double-double in each match. She registered a season-high 26 digs in the sweep over Mayville State and 15 digs in the win over Presentation.

On the offensive side of the ball, Fountain recorded 16 kills in each match, averaging 5.33 kills per set. She hit .344 against Presentation and followed that up with a .364 attacking clip against the Comets. For the week, Fountain recorded 32 kills and 41 digs and hit .354 in six sets of action.

Galas, who earned her second conference Setter of the Week nod this season and the 19th of her career, averaged an astronomical 17.88 assists per set in the two sweeps. In the win over Presentation, she dished out 52 assists, while adding four kills and five digs.

Galas set a rally-scoring era school record in the sweep over Mayville State with the most assists in a three-set match, finishing with 55 assists in the sweep. She added 11 digs for her fourth double-double of the season, while also collecting three kills, two blocks, and a service ace.

In the latest NAIA national statistics, Fountain ranks 21st with 3.81 kills per set. Galas is fourth nationally with 11.65 set assists per set.

The Bruins (11-2, 3-0 NSAA) will host Peru State College on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
