Fountain named NAIA National Attacker of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- After a record-tying performance in the Bruins' five-set victory at Dakota State University last week, freshman outside hitter Eve Fountain has been honored as the NAIA's National Attacker of the Week. It marked the first time in school history that a BU freshman has garnered the prestigious honor.

The 5-9 Omaha native tied a school record (rally scoring era) with 26 kills on a sizzling .412 hitting percentage in BU's come-from-behind win at DSU. She also added 19 digs and three blocks in the victory.

Fountain produced four kills and a block in the decisive fifth set and also served out the final four points of the match.

In the most recent North Star Athletic Association statistics, Fountain ranks fourth with 3.7 kills per game, second with 0.5 service aces per game, and third with a .327 hitting percentage.

The Bruins' two conference road matches scheduled for this weekend at Presentation College and Mayville State University have been postponed. No make-up dates have been set yet.
