
DICKINSON, N.D. -- Sophomore outside hitter Sierra Athen pounded a match-high 13 kills to lead the 15th ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-0 (27-25, 25-16, 26-24) sweep at Dickinson State Friday afternoon in North Star Athletic Association action at Scott Gymnasium.
The Bruins improved to 20-5 on the season and 6-2 in the NSAA with the win. DSU fell to 7-10 overall and 2-6 in league play.
Athen added five digs, a pair of blocks and a service ace. Sophomore setter Olivia Galas directed the BU offense to a .250 hitting percentage, dishing out 30 assists, to go along with eight digs, six kills, and a pair of service aces.
Sophomore rightside hitter Rosa Reed-Bouley hit .500 on the day, with eight kills on 12 swings.
Freshman Paige Holdsworth anchored the BU defense with a match-high 11 digs. She also added three kills.
Baylie Dashner led the Blue Hawks with nine kills and two digs. Alyssa Wisher finished with seven kills and a match-high four blocks.
The Bruins will travel to Valley City, N.D. tomorrow (Oct. 19) for an 11 a.m. contest at Valley City State University.
