
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Fifth-ranked Dordt College got a combined 27 kills from Leah Kamp and Ema Altena to lead the Defenders to a 3-0 (29-27, 25-11, 25-20) sweep over No. 25 Bellevue University Tuesday night in non-conference action at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
The Bruins fell to 22-9 on the season with the loss while DC improved to 24-2 with their 18th-straight victory.
Sierra Athen led the Bruins with nine kills, two digs, and two blocks. Coree Lipovsky recorded a match-high five blocks as the Bruins held a 12-8 advantage in total team blocks.
Shayla Scanlan added six kills and four blocks.
Olivia Galas dished out 24 assists and added four blocks two digs and a service ace.
Kamp led DC with 14 kills and five blocks while Altena produced 13 kills, eight digs, and a service ace.
The Defender defense held the Bruins to a .049 hitting percentage while gaining a 63-42 edge in total digs.
All-American Jamie De Jager recorded a double-double with 39 assists and 16 digs, along with three blocks and a pair of kills.
The Bruins will host No. 7 Viterbo on Friday, Nov. 2 in a key NSAA matchup beginning at 7 p.m. in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
