Galas named NSAA Setter of the Week for third time

MADISON, S.D. -- For the third time this season, freshman setter Olivia Galas (Omaha, Neb.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week.

She earns the honor for her performance in guiding the Bruins to a perfect 2-0 week with key NSAA wins over Mayville State and Presentation.

Galas averaged 14.43 assists per set last week and added 14 digs to go along with eight kills. She dished out a season-best 67 assists against Mayville State, just missing a double-double as she wrapped up the match with nine digs.

She followed that up with a 34-assist, five-dig effort against Presentation while also adding a service ace.

Galas, who led BU to a .210 hitting percentage on the week, currently ranks second nationally in assists per set (11.21) and 12th in total assists (751). Both of those marks currently lead the conference.

Bellevue faces fifth-ranked Viterbo on Friday, Oct. 5 in an NSAA match-up of the league's only unbeaten teams. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at R.W. Beggs Sr. Gymnasium in La Crosse, Wis.
