MADISON, S.D. -- For the second time this season, senior rightside hitter Shayla Scanlan has been named the North Star Athletic Association Attacker of the Week for her performance last week in the Bruins' conference-opening sweep at Dakota State University.
Scanlan hit a sizzling .522 in BU's 3-0 win over the Trojans, finishing with 14 kills and two errors in 23 attempts. She also added a pair of blocks in the sweep.
In the latest conference statistics, Scanlan ranks fourth in hitting percentage (.287), fifth in kills per game (2.8 kpg), and fourth in blocks per game (1.0 bpg).
It is the fourth time in her career and second time this season (Sept. 3) that Scanlan has been chosen as the league's Attacker of the Week.
The Bruins will travel to Dickinson, N.D. this Friday, Sept. 21 for a 6 p.m. (central time) league contest at Dickinson State University.
