Myers, Wald named NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athletes

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced today that 481 volleyball student-athletes, including Bellevue University's Gracie Myers and Rachel Wald have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Myers, who has two more years of eligibility, is majoring in communication studies. Wald, who earned NSAA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2015, is majoring in business. 

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Midland (Neb.) University led all institutions with 10 individuals on the list. In total, 152 institutions were named to the list. 

The Bruins finished the 2016 season with a 32-12 overall record, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the ninth time in school history.
