PERU, Neb. -- Mikaylah Gillespie and Hope Lambrecht each registered 13 kills to pace the No. 21 Bellevue University volleyball team to a non-conference victory over (RV) Peru State on Tuesday evening.

Set scores from the match were 25-19, 25-16, 25-21 all in favor of the Bruins in a 3-0 win.

The victory is the Bruins' third in a row as they improve to 20-8 overall while Peru State falls to 30-7 with their third loss in their last four matches.

With the win, Bellevue has now won at least 20 matches in 13-straight seasons, a streak that began in 2004.

Shayla Scanlan contributed seven kills to the winning effort and Michaela Gardner added six.

The Bruin defensive effort was led by Lauren Colpitts and Taylor Holz who were credited with 13 and 12 digs, respectively.

As a team Bellevue out-dug Peru State 53-46 and out-hit their hosts .294-.128.

The Bobcats were led by Kira Shapiro with nine kills. Jhessica Martins and Yorgelys Jaspe each put away seven kills but that trio combined to hit just .122 for PSC. Brooke Rudebusch finished with 18 assists and Gianna Gangi led the Bobcats with eight digs.

Bellevue returns to the court on Friday, Oct. 21 when they host Valley City State at 7 p.m. at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center in a North Star Athletic Association match.
