Sophomore libero Taylor Holz (Omaha, Neb.) has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the Bruins' six matches last week.
Holz had double-figure dig totals in all six matches as Bellevue went 5-1 record for the week. She registered a total of 103 digs on the week, including a week-high of 27 digs in BU's 3-0 victory over Judson (Ill.) on Sept. 18. Holz averaged 5.7 digs per set and recorded a total of seven service aces with a service percentage of .944.
The Bruins are currently 11-9 on the season and are receiving votes in the latest NAIA top 25 coaches' poll. Bellevue will host No.24-ranked Doane College next Monday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
