SEWARD, Neb. -- Sophomore Rachel Wald notched 11 kills and hit .250 but it wasn't enough as the Bellevue University volleyball team fell to (RV) Concordia in four sets on Tuesday evening.

(RV) Concordia 3, Bellevue 1 (17-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-17)

The Bruins started out strong, taking the first set by a 25-17 margin before dropping three straight in falling for the fourth straight match. After a pair of closely contested wins in sets two and three (25-20, 25-21), Concordia pulled away with a 25-17 fourth-set win to prevent a decisive fifth set.

Senior Beth Walker directed the attack, recording 26 assists on her way to her third double-double of the year, chipping in 10 digs. Freshmen Shayla Scanlan and Lauren Colpitts each finished the match with seven kills while sophomore Mikaylah Gillespie added five.

Sophomore Addison Smith topped the Bruins with 11 digs while freshman Erin Warren and sophomore Taylor Holz each added eight.

Concordia received double-figure kills from both Claire White and Paige Getz, out-hitting Bellevue .182-.077 on the night. Alayna Kavanaugh posted a double-double for the host Bulldogs, finishing the match with 35 assists and 10 digs. White and Jocelyn Garcia also finished the match with double-figure digs, totaling 12 and 11, respectively.

The Bruins (1-4) are back in action Friday when they take on Hastings College at 7:00 p.m. at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, Neb.
