BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik has announced today the signing of 5-8 right side/outside hitter Pimi Dike (Bellevue, Neb./Bellevue West HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall of 2014.
The daughter of Philip Leko and Wacki Kuku, Dike was coached by Sara Bayer at Bellevue West High School where she was a three-year letterwinner.
"Pimi just started playing volleyball a few years ago and I saw her playing pepper in a warmup and couldn't help but think this is a player that we would love to train," said head coach Trish Siedlik. "She is athletic and has years ahead of her to be at the top of her game."
A native of Khartoum, Sudan, Dike also lettered in track and basketball and played club volleyball for Starlings under Shannon Walker.
She was an honor roll student at BWHS and intends to major in health science at Bellevue.
Dike joins earlier signees Taylor Holz (Omaha, Neb./Skutt Catholic HS), Gracie Myers (Treynor, Iowa/Treynor HS), Hope Lambrecht (Wood River, Neb./Wood River HS) and Hannah Taylor (Hallam, Neb./Lincoln Christian HS) in the 2014 recruiting class.
The 2013 Bruins finished the season with a 34-9 overall record and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the seventh-straight season.
