POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- For the second-straight week, Symone Faulkner and Beth Walker have earned Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference honors. Faulkner was named the Hitter of the Week while Walker earned Setter of the Week accolades.
For the week, Faulkner recorded 52 kills, on .441 hitting, to go along with eight total blocks. Against Haskell Indian Nations University on Oct. 29, she pounded 14 kills on .571 hitting.
Faulkner leads the team this season in blocks (116) and hitting percentage (.308) and ranks second with 309 kills.
Walker averaged 11.2 assists/set with 47 digs, 22 kills and seven blocks in the Bruins' five matches. In BU's 3-1 win against Briar Cliff University, she recorded 57 assists, 13 digs, seven kills, four blocks and two service aces.
A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Walker has been named the MCAC Setter of the Week six times this season and has a notched a team-best 15 double-doubles.
The 16th-ranked Bruins (30-8, 10-0 MCAC) will return to action on Friday, Nov. 8 when they play at in-state conference foe College of Saint Mary. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Lied Fitness Center.
