Volleyball sweeps weekly conference honors

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Meghan Evans was named the Libero of the Week, Symone Faulkner the Hitter of the Week and Beth Walker was awarded Setter of the Week as the Bellevue University volleyball team swept the weekly Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference awards in an announcement made today by the league office.

Faulkner recorded 22 kills on .618 hitting with seven total blocks in BU's two wins. At Central Baptist College on Oct. 12, she tallied 13 kills and tied a single-match school record with a .750 hitting percentage.

For the second time this season, Evans was named the MCAC Libero of the Week. She notched 28 digs for the week, including 19 digs and four set assists at College of the Ozarks (Oct. 11).

Walker averaged 12.3 assists/set and added 21 total digs for the week. Against the Bobcats on Oct. 11, Walker tallied her team-high 11th double-double with 40 assists and 14 digs.

The Bruins are ranked No. 14 in the NAIA and have a 24-5 overall record and a 7-0 conference mark.

The BU volleyball team will be idle until they travel to Kentucky for the Georgetown (Ky.) Boneyard Brawl on Oct. 25-26.
