
CONWAY, Ark. -- Sophomore Symone Faulkner led the 14th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a 25-10, 25-9, 25-7 sweep at Central Baptist College Saturday afternoon at Reddin Fieldhouse in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action.
Faulkner led Bellevue (24-5, 7-0 MCAC) with 13 kills on .750 hitting while adding three blocks and a pair of digs. Annie Benson also hit .750 (9k-0e-12ta) in the match as the duo tied a school record for hitting percentage in a match.
BU hit a season-best .530 and tied a season-high with nine service aces in the sweep. The Mustangs were plagued by 24 hitting errors and hit -.157 for the contest.
Caitlin Rueth pounded 10 kills on .588 hitting while adding four digs and four blocks.
Beth Walker dished out 34 assists while adding seven digs and a block. Meghan Evans and Bridgette Baden paced the BU defense with nine digs apiece.
The Bruins have now won 17 matches in straight-sets this season, including all seven conference matches.
The BU volleyball team will be idle until they travel to Kentucky for the Georgetown (Ky.) Boneyard Brawl on Oct. 25-26.
