POINT LOOKOUT, Mo -- Bellevue University volleyball players Annie Benson and Beth Walker have been the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Hitter of the Week and Setter of the Week announced today by the league office.
Benson finished the week with 61 kills and 66 digs and recorded double-doubles in all four matches. This marks the third time in her career Benson has been named the conference's Hitter of the Week.
Against No. 12 Oklahoma Baptist University, Benson notched 20 kills and 18 digs.
Walker averaged 10.1 assists/set with 48 digs, 20 kills and eight block assists. She has now been named the MCAC Setter of the Week three times this season.
In the Bruins five set match against OBU on Oct. 4, Walker recorded 49 assists, 13 digs and six kills.
The Bruins (22-5) will travel to Point Lookout, Mo. on Friday, Oct. 11, for a key MCAC matchup at College of the Ozarks (16-12). First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Keeter Gymnasium.
