Three Bruins earn first team NAIA all-Nebraska recognition

Senior setter Jordan Broady, junior outside hitter Annie Benson, and senior libero Meghan Evans were all named to the Omaha World-Herald NAIA all-Nebraska first team in an announcement made today by the state's largest newspaper. 

Additionally, Sunny Bell and Symone Faulkner earned honorable mention accolades. 

Broady capped her Bruin career with several honors this season, including being named a second team All-American. 

A three-time all-West Central Region first team honoree, Broady was named the 2012 MCAC Player of the Year, while also earning first team all-MCAC honors for the fourth time in her career. 

Broady recorded a team-high 17 double-doubles on the season, including five triple-doubles. 

She ranked second nationally with 1,730 assists which sits in fourth on the Bruins' all-time single-season records' chart. Broady finished her BU career ranked second in school history in career assists (6,032), eighth in service aces (145), and 11th in digs (1,271) and block assists (228).

Benson was named to the all-MCAC first team while leading the Bruins with 475 digs and was second with 429 digs. She also earned honorable mention all-Region honors and was named the MCAC hitter of the week on Sept. 10. 

Evans earned first team all-MCAC honors while setting the school's single-season record with 833 digs, which also ranked fourth nationally. 

She was named the MCAC libero of the week twice this season. 

The Bruins finished the season with a school-record 36 wins, recording a 36-11 overall mark and a perfect 13-0 record in the MCAC. Bellevue won the MCAC regular season and tournament titles, advancing to the NAIA Volleyball National Championship for the sixth-straight season.
