Evans named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Junior libero Meghan Evans has been named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete in an announcement made today in conjunction with the NAIA Volleyball National Championship. 

Over 400 student-athletes were named to the prestigious team. 

Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach or sports information director and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.

Evans set the school's single-season record with 833 digs in 2012, which ranks fourth nationally.

The Bruins finished the season with a school-record 36 wins, recording a 36-11 overall mark and a perfect 13-0 record in the MCAC. Bellevue won the MCAC regular season and tournament titles, advancing to the NAIA Volleyball National Championship for the sixth-straight season.
