No. 24 Bruins sweep York for seventh-straight win

YORK, Neb. -- Symone Faulkner, Annie Benson and Caitlyn Rueth combined for 34 kills to lead the 24th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-17) win at York College in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action Tuesday night at the Freeman Center.

The Bruins, who have won seven-straight matches, improved to 30-9 on the season and 11-0 in the MCAC. York fell to 10-20 overall and 4-8 in league action. 

Faulkner led BU with 12 kills on .800 hitting while Benson and Rueth tallied 11 kills apiece. Benson also recorded 10 digs en route to her 11th double-double of the year.

Setters Jordan Broady and Beth Walker combined for 48 assists as they directed the Bruins' offense to a .365 hitting percentage. Walker notched her first career double-double, registering 15 assists and 10 digs.

The Bruins will host Waldorf College on Friday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. Broady, the program's lone senior, will be honored immediately following the match.
