
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Caitlyn Rueth pounded 11 kills to lead the Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-13) sweep over Central Baptist College in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
The Bruins improved to 26-9 overall and 7-0 in the MCAC. Central Baptist fell to 7-18 on the season adn 2-7 in league play.
Rueth hit .556 in the match while adding four digs. Sunny Bell finished with eight kills and middle blockers Symone Faulkner and Alannah VanGorder nailed seven kills apiece.
The BU offense was firing on all cylinders, hitting .465 with Jordan Broady (12) and Beth Walker (27) combining for 39 assists.
The Bruin defense was led by Meghan Evans with 12 digs.
Andrea Johnson posted a match-high five service aces in the victory.
Amy Schichtl led the Mustangs with eight kills and six digs.
Bellevue travels to Lawrence, Kan. next Thursday, Oct. 25, for a 7 p.m. match at Haskell Indian Nations University.
