POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Senior middle blocker Maureen Wardian of Bellevue University has been named MCAC Women's Volleyball Hitter of the Week for the week ending Oct. 23.
It was Wardian's second MCAC honor this season. She was also named MCAC Hitter of the Week on Sept. 19.
Wardian, a native of Omaha, Neb., averaged 3.58 kills and 0.95 blocks per game last week in helping the 21st-ranked Bruins to a 4-1 record. Wardian was named the Most Outstanding Player at the Madonna University Crusader Classic last weekend in Michigan. In a 3-2 win over Malone University at the Crusader Classic, she had 12 kills and six total blocks.
For the week, Wardian collected 68 kills and 18 total blocks.
Bellevue is 24-6 overall (8-1 MCAC). The Bruins travel to Sioux City, Iowa on Thursday, Oct. 27 for a 7 p.m. match at Briar Cliff University.
