Volleyball sweeps weekly MCAC awards
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University volleyball players Jordan Broady, Meghan Evans and Maureen Wardian have been named this week's Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's setter, libero and hitter of the week announced by the league office on Monday, Sept. 19.

For the third straight week, Broady was named the MCAC Setter of the Week after she averaged 10.5 assists, 2.7 digs, 0.48 kills and 0.39 blocks per game last week. In BU's 3-2 win versus 24th-ranked Grand View University, she had 57 assists, 17 digs and three kills. Broady leads the team with eight double-doubles, including four-straight.

Evans averaged 4.2 digs per game, including three-straight 20-dig performances, to help the Bruins win six matches last week. In the Bruins' 3-1 victory against Baker University, she had a career-high 29 digs.

A native of Omaha, Neb., Wardian averaged 3.7 kills and 0.75 blocks per game last week. In BU's six matches last week, she hit .424 with a total of 74 kills.  In the Bruins' 3-2 win over GVU, she pounded a career-high 22 kills to go along with five block assists.

Bellevue (13-4, 4-0 MCAC) has won nine-straight matches and will return to action next when they host the Bruin/Premier Volleyball Classic on Sept. 23-24 at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
