Bruins well represented on all-MCAC volleyball squad
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University had four athletes named to the all-MCAC volleyball first team in an announcement made today in conjunction with the 2010 MCAC Volleyball Tournament being held on the Bellevue University campus. In addition, two Bruins earned second team honors and one Bruin was named honorable mention. Trish Siedlik was named the MCAC co-Coach of the Year along with Nealy Thomas of College of the Ozarks.

Sophomore setter Jordan Broady, junior middle blocker Maureen Wardian, senior middle blocker Jaclyn Thorson, and sophomore rightside hitter Kali Schnacker all earned first team honors. Senior libero Katy Gregory and junior outside hitter Ashley Wurdeman were named to the second team. Freshman Annie Benson earned honorable mention accolades.

Wardian and Thorson were both named to the first team for the third-straight year. Broady earned her second first-team honor after being named MCAC Freshman of the Year last season. Schnacker was named to the first team for the first time in her career after earning second team honors in 2008 and 2009.

Wardian leads the Bruins with a.337 hitting percentage and 1.08 blocks per game. She has been named the MCAC Hitter of the Week twice this season. 

Thorson is averaging 2.43 kills and 0.77 blocks per set, while hitting .304. She was named the MCAC Hitter of the Week on Sept. 6.

Schnacker has been the MCAC Hitter of the Week on three occasions. She leads the Bruins with 3.04 kills per game while hitting .253 and averaging 0.63 blocks per set. 

Broady has recorded a team-leading 12 double-doubles on the season and has been named the MCAC Setter of the Week on six occasions. She is averaging 10.40 assists and 2.24 digs per set. 

Siedlik's honor marks the seventh-time in her career that she has been named the MCAC Coach of the Year.
