Bruins fall at Ozarks in four games

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- The College of the Ozarks moved into sole possession of first place in the MCAC standings with a 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 16-25, 25-22) win over No. 21 Bellevue University Friday night at Keeter Gymnasium. The loss also snapped Bellevue's 34-match regular season conference winning streak.

The Bruins fell to 17-6 overall and 5-1 in the MCAC. Ozarks improved to 18-5 on the season and 6-0 in league play.

Bellevue had not lost a regular season conference match since Oct. 19, 2007 when the Bruins fell in five games at home to Ozarks.

Junior rightside hitter Kali Schnacker led the Bruins with 14 kills while sophomore setter Jordan Broady dished out 38 assists. Defensively, Bellevue was paced by Katy Gregory and Kirstine Linebaugh who both collected 12 digs. Jaclyn Thorson was the Bruins' leading blocker with three.

Bellevue will head to Bartlesville, Okla. on Saturday, Oct. 2 for a pair of MCAC matches. The Bruins will face Southwestern Christian at 12 p.m. and Oklahoma Wesleyan at 2 p.m
