BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Juniors Maureen Wardian and Ashley Wurdeman combined for 23 kills and hit .512 to lead No. 17 Bellevue University to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-13) sweep over Tabor College in the Bruin Labor Day Classic Saturday morning at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
The Bruins (5-3) will conclude the tournament with an 11 a.m. match against No. 18 Morningside.
Wardian led the Bruins with 13 kills on .545 hitting and added a pair of blocks. Wurdeman connected on 10 kills while hitting at a .476 clip. Freshman Annie Benson added eight kills and three digs in the win.
Sophomore Jordan Broady registered her fifth double-double of the season with 31 assists and 11 digs while adding four kills. She directed the BU offense to a .374 hitting percentage.
Senior Katy Gregory anchored the Bruin defense with 13 digs while adding eight assists and a service ace.
Bellevue outblocked Tabor 7-4 and held a 51-42 advantage in digs.
