Muller, Schnacker lead BU over Flames

BELLEVUE, Neb. --  Outside hitters Rachel Muller and Kali Schnacker combined for 26 kills to lead the 14th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-11) sweep over visiting College of St. Mary Wednesday night (Nov. 4) at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

With the win, the Bruins improved to 25-6 on the season and 12-0 in the MCAC. College of St. Mary fell to 14-18 overall and 6-5 in the league standings.

Bellevue has now won 11-straight matches and 27-consecutive regular season conference matches.

Muller collected her team-leading 20th double-double of the season with a match-high 16 kills and 10 digs, while adding four blocks.

Schnacker blasted 10 kills and hit .467 while registering seven digs.

Jordan Broady finished with a double-double recording 36 assists and 11 digs. She also tallied five kills in the match.

Defensively, the Bruins were led by Katy Gregory who finished with a match-high 12 digs.

Schnacker and Muller paced the Bruins in the first set, combining for 12 kills on .364 hitting as the Bruins trailed just once at 1-0.

Muller totalled five kills on .625 hitting to lead the Bruin attack in the second stanza as Bellevue went on an 9-1 run midway through to break open a tight set.

Muller once again paced the BU attack in the third set with six kills on .417 hitting.

In a battle for the regular season conference title, the Bruins will host second-place College of the Ozarks at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. The Bobcats' lone MCAC loss this season was to Bellevue in five sets on Oct. 2.

Ozarks was the last team to defeat Bellevue in a regular season league match, back on Oct. 19, 2007.
