No. 13 Bruins collect sweep over Freed-Hardeman

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- Sophomore Kali Schnacker blasted 14 kills on .590 hitting to lead the 13th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-20) sweep over Freed-Hardeman in the Bruins' first match of the Olivet Nazarene Holiday Inn Express Tournament Friday afternoon.

The Bruins improved to 11-1 on the season and have won nine-straight matches. Bellevue will play the host school, 17th-ranked Olivet Nazarene, at 7 p.m. tonight.

Senior Rachel Muller joined Schnacker in double figures with 11 kills, while adding eight digs.

Sophomore Maureen Wardian collected a match-high eight blocks, including four solos, in the win.

Junior Katy Gregory (15) and senior Gabby Pfannenstiel (12) combined for 27 digs to lead Bellevue's defensive effort.

Freshman setter Jordan Broady directed the Bruins to a .282 hitting percentage, while recording 30 assists and a match-high two service aces.
