PERU, Neb. -- Junior Jaclyn Thorson led a balanced Bruin attack as the 13th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team swept Peru State 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-12) Tuesday night in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action at the Al Wheeler Activity Center.

The Bruins, who have won eight-straight matches, improved to 10-1 on the season and 3-0 in the MCAC. Peru State fell to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Thorson blasted a team high 14 kills on a blistering .619 hitting percentage (14k-1e-21a) as four Bruins hit .400  or above in the win.

Senior Rachel Muller recorded her team-leading seventh double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Kali Schnacker hit .500 with 10 kills, only one error in 18 attempts. Sophomore Maureen Wardian  hit .412 with eight kills.

Freshman setter Jordan Broady directed the BU offense to a season-high .382 hitting clip while registering a double-double with 35 assists and 13 digs, to go along with four kills.

Bellevue was led defensively by junior Katy Gregory's match-high 14 digs.

The Bruins will travel to Bourbonnais, Ill. this Friday and Saturday to participate in the Olivet Nazarene Holiday Inn Express Tournament.
