No. 12 Bellevue breezes past Haskell

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The 12th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team breezed past Haskell Indian Nations, 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-9) Saturday afternoon in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

The Bruins, who have now won seven-straight matches, improved to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the MCAC. Haskell fell to 1-6 and 0-1 in the MCAC.

Junior middle blocker Jaclyn Thorson led the Bruin attack with eight kills on .700 hitting. Thorson committed just one error in 10 attempts.

Sophomore outside hitter Laura Tesnohlidek charted a career-high seven kills while hitting .500 in the win.

Senior outside hitter Rachel Muller led the BU defensive effort with eight digs while sophomore Maureen Wardian collected a match-high four blocks. Bellevue held the Indians to a -.130 hitting clip.

Freshman setter Jordan Broady directed the Bruin offense to a .369 attack percentage while dishing out 28 set assists. Broady recorded a career-high six service aces in the match, including four in the third set.

Bellevue will travel to Peru, Neb. for an MCAC match against Peru State on Tuesday, Sept. 15 beginning at 7 p.m.
