YORK, Neb. -- The 11th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team opened Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action with a convincing 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-9) sweep at York Wednesday afternoon at the Freeman Center.
With the win, the Bruins improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in MCAC play. York fell to 0-3 and 0-1 in league action
Junior Jaclyn Thorson led the Bruins with 14 kills. Junior Katy Gregory paced the defensive effort with nine digs. Freshman Jordan Broady dished out 21 assists while junior Kylie Davis collected a season-high three service aces.
Bellevue will host the six-team Bruin Labor Day Classic this Friday-Saturday, Sept. 4-5 at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
