GREENWOOD, Ind. -- The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2024 women's soccer Academic All-District Teams Tuesday afternoon, and the Bruins had three student-athletes recognized.
Student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, and III, as well as the NAIA, were recognized for this honor.

McIlnay, a senior defender majoring in Psychology and minoring in Athletic Coaching, has a 3.94 cumulative GPA and is a repeat selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team. She was a first team all-CAC selection this year, serving as a team captain and anchoring a defense that allowed just 4.5 shots on goal per game while posting a 1.28 goals against average, and registered seven shutouts in 17 games. During her career she was named Academic All-Conference four times and is a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete so far.
Rota, a senior midfielder majoring in Health Science with a minor in Psychology, has a 3.94 cumulative GPA. She served in a facilitating role in the midfield, contributing to the team's efforts on both ends of the field, including tallying three goals and four assists. She is a two-time all-CAC selection and was a CAC Academic All-Conference honoree last season.
Serrano, a sophomore defender majoring in Health & Human Performance and Fitness & Coaching major, has a 3.93 cumulative GPA. A two-time first team all-CAC selection, she also earned CAC All-Tournament Team honors last week and was a CAC Academic All-Conference recipient a year ago. She totaled three goals and seven assists as BU's most versatile play, taking over games at times on either end of the field.
To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a sophomore both academically and athletically. They must have competed in 90% of the institution's games/contests/sets played or must start in at least 66% of the games/contests/sets. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must have a minimum of 3.50 for both their graduate program GPA and their undergraduate GPA.
Eligible student-athletes will move onto the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with the announcement of those teams coming out on December 11th.
The Bruins wrapped up the 2024 season with an overall record of 9-5-3, claiming the No. 2 seed in the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament and reaching the CAC title game for the fourth straight season.
