Bruins close regular-season with 3-0 win at NCF

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Three first half goals powered the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over New College of Florida in the Bruins' regular-season finale on Saturday.

Bellevue wraps up the regular-season at 11-2-1 while the Mighty Banyans slip to 2-8-1.

Ella Pelletier, Ximena Jauregui, and Ketlyn Rota all found the back of the net in staking the Bruins to a first half lead.

Emma Madej set up Pelletier to open the scoring in the fifth minute, her fourth goal of the campaign.

Jauregui doubled the advantage in the 17th minute with her eighth goal of the year.

The lead grew to 3-0 on Rota's strike in the 34th minute. The goal was her second of the season.

Alessia Ricciardi stopped the lone shot on goal BU faced, combining with Eliza Christensen to earn the Bruins' eighth shutout of the season.

With the clean sheet, the Bruin defense closes out the year with four-consecutive shutouts and have not allowed a goal in 413:35 of game time, dating back to their match at Missouri Baptist on Oct. 4.

Bellevue out-shot the Mighty Banyans 13-2 and 8-1 on goal. Rebecca Barnett made five saves for NCF in the loss.

The Bruins next play in the CAC Tournament in Lawrenceville, Ga. from Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 9-11. Seeding and brackets will be announced in the coming weeks.
