For the second time this season, freshman Alessia Ricciardi has been named the Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the Bruins' road win at Mid-America Christian University last week.
Ricciardi made seven saves in Bellevue's 2-0 road victory against previously unbeaten MACU (Oklahoma) last Saturday. The Milan, Italy, native made four saves in each half to record her fourth shutout of this season.
Ricciardi is 6-1-1 on the season with a 0.88 goals-against average.
The Bruins (6-1-1) are back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 26, when they travel to Columbia, Mo., for a 4:30 p.m. kick-off against No. 9-ranked Columbia College (4-1-0).
