PAPILLION, Neb. -- Dekota Schubert headed home the lone goal of the game with 1:09 to play to give Hastings College at 1-0 win over the Bellevue University women's soccer team on Wednesday evening.
The first loss of the season drops Bellevue to 2-1-1 while Hastings ups their mark to 2-0-0 to begin the year.
Shots were few and far between in this one with each side managing just attempts at goal. Hastings put three shots on frame to Bellevue's two.
From the near sideline, Dulce Lopez sent a cross to the near post where an oncoming Schubert headed home the winner.
Alessia Ricciardi made on save for the Bruins while a defender cleared another ball off the line.
Ketlyn Rota and Ella Pelletier accounted for both BU shots on goal. Jackson Pedersen stopped both for the Broncos.
Hastings won both corner kicks in the match.
Bellevue travels to Crete, Neb. on Saturday, Sept. 2 for an 11 a.m. kick-off at Doane University.
