PAPILLION, Neb. -- Goals from Ella Pelletier and Ximena Jauregui staked the Bellevue University women's soccer team to an early lead en route to a 2-0 victory over College of St. Mary on Wednesday evening.

Records:

Bellevue: 7-1-1
CSM: 6-3-1

BU 2, CSM 0

Ella Pelletier scored the quickest goal by a Bruin this season, just 3:35 into the match. Ximena Jauregui carried a ball deep into the box and, while she saw her initial attempt saved, Pelletier was on site to clean up the rebound, burying the rebound into the back of the net.

Continuing to apply the pressure, Bellevue again found a reward for their play in the 12th minute. This time Sami Reding sent a cross through the box to Jauregui who one-timed a shot back across the goal and inside the post for a 2-0 lead.

Bellevue carried that lead into the break while seeing little offensively from their counterparts until a flurry of shots in the final six minutes of the half.

Scoring chances were minimal for much of the second half with some of the best looks missing the goal frame entirely.

Jenn Amaro made a final stop with 35 seconds left, coming off her line, to preserve the shutout. The shutout was her fourth of the season while her five saves were her third-highest total to date.

Gabby Felker and Alivia Schade each made one save for the Flames after splitting time in goal.

Bellevue totaled a 12-9 advantage in shots on the evening but put four on goal to CSM's five. The Bruins did, however, take all five corner kicks awarded in the match and played a relatively clean game; BU was whistled for just one foul on the night while CSM was cited 11 times.

Players of the Match:

Coach Tom White:

"The first 20 minutes today we showed so much quality and deserved our two goal lead. We let off the gas and let them get back into it but showed good fight to see the win out."
