COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Behind their highest offensive output in four years, the Bellevue University women's soccer team cruised to a 6-1 victory over host Stephens College on Saturday afternoon at Battle High School.

Records:

(RV) Bellevue: 6-1-0
Stephens: 0-7-1

BU 6, Stephens 1

Bellevue was on the front foot from the opening whistle as they dominated the first half, scoring five goals and out-shooting Stephens 15-1 in the first 45 minutes.

Ella Pelletier opened the scoring with her first goal in the 15th minute after a free kick by Claudia Gallegos. She added her second just 2:29 later, off an assist by Ximena Jauregui.

Goals from Sami Reding in the 22nd minute and Kaycee Driever in the 27th, with an assist by Jauregui to the latter, pushed the Bellevue lead to 4-0 before the half hour mark. Reding's goal, assisted by Ketlyn Rota and Sinai Bernal, was her fourth while Driever found the back of the net for the second time this season.

Kailee Wisber put the Stars on the board with her 43rd minute strike that Bellevue answered just 45 seconds later when Jauregui scored her fourth of the season from Britney Nolte.

Bellevue wasted no time adding to their lead as Reding scored, unassisted, just 27 seconds into the second half, her first of the season, before the team saw out the comfortable victory from there.

The Bruins finished the game with a 25-6 advantage in shots, 19-5 on goal, and a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.

While not tasked with much to do in goal, Jenn Amaro did manage four saves on the afternoon.

Sofia Ramos totaled seven saves for Stephens before being relieved at halftime by Kelly Rowland who stopped six shots in net for the Stars.

The six goals scored by BU were the most since a 7-0 victory at Fisher College on Oct. 11, 2018.
