Bielski hat trick powers Bruins past CSM

OMAHA, Neb. -- Bruna Bielski scored her first hat trick as a Bruin to propel the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a 3-1 win over College of St. Mary on Saturday afternoon at Heritage Park.

Bruins 1, CSM 0

Bruna Bielski opened the scoring in the 36th minute with her fifth goal of the season. After a turnover deep in the CSM end, Jaedyn Tryon played a passed to Bielski at the top of the 18. Bielski settled and ripped a shot through the keeper's hands for a 1-0 Bruin lead.

The scored remained 1-0 into the half. Bellevue held a 5-4 edge in shots and 3-0 advantage in corners while the Flames put all four of their shots on target to BU's three on frame.

Bielski doubled the Bruin advantage in the 53rd minute with her second goal of the game, this one coming unassisted.

CSM's Katie Harold halved the BU lead in the 74th minute, taking a pass from Abbey Wilson and beating the keeper.

Bielski put the game to bed by completing her hat trick with 2:32 to play, taking a pass from Sinai Bernal and scoring her third goal of the game and seventh of the year.

Sabrina Staufenbiel made six saves in net for the Bruins who were out-shot 9-7 on the day and 7-5 on goal.

Gabby Felker made both saves for the Flames in the first half. Alivia Schade allowed two goals after coming on at halftime.

Bellevue, winners of two of their last three games, travels to Forest City, Iowa on Wednesday, Oct. 13 for a 5 p.m. kick-off against Waldorf University (3-8-0) from Bolstorff Field.
