LIMA, Ohio -- A pair of first half goals from the Racers proved too much to overcome for the Bellevue University women's soccer team as the Bruins fell 2-0 to No. 24-ranked University of Northwestern Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

Records:

Bellevue: 3-6-0
#24 UNOH: 3-3-1

UNOH 2, Bruins 0

Agnes Stefansdottir opened the scoring for the Racers with her 11th minute strike. Nanna Rosengreen set in a low cross from just inside the box that Stefansdottir slotted under the keeper.

Patricia Gomez Nogue pushed the UNOH lead to 2-0 in the 24th minute. Hedda Isaksson sent in a cross that Renata Aguirre one-touch passed on to Gomez Nogue to bury into the back of the net.

The lead remained 2-0 into halftime as UNOH dominated the first 45 minutes accounting for all nine shots and both corner kicks.

Bellevue seemed to find some footing in the second half but were not able to cut into the deficit.

The Racers out-shot BU 19-5 in the game, putting eight shots on goal to the Bruins' two.

Sabrina Staufenbiel finished with six saves in the loss while Martina Galloni stopped shots from Jaedyn Tryon and Maddy Vasquez to preserve the shutout.

Coach Tom White:

"Every player worked their socks off today. The energy and encouragement were there for the full 90. We're getting better every game and a win will be rewarded soon."
