BU inks O'Reilly to LOI
Amber O’Reilly (Southampton, England) has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall.
BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White has announced the signing of Amber O'Reilly (Southampton, England) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning next fall.
The daughter of David O'Reilly and Julie Game, O'Reilly comes to Bellevue University after playing her club soccer at Eastleigh Ladies under the guidance of Alister Board.
During her career with Eastleigh Ladies, O'Reilly totaled 26 goals and 47 assists.
She has also represented Southampton FC and was top goal scorer in the Hampshire Youth League in 2020/2021 season.
O'Reilly will come in and bolster Bellevue's attacking options with her natural speed and tenacity.
Coach White on O'Reilly:
"We are very excited that Amber is joining our program. Her speed is frightening that will cause all sorts of problems for the opposition. She's not just a goal scorer but also can create chances in the attacking third. After our first initial conversation I knew she would be a great fit for us and can't wait for her to meet the other Bruins."
O'Reilly joins earlier signees Alba Petit (Cardedeu, Barcelona), Mackenzie Poleij (Hoek van Holland, Netherlands), Abby Bennett (Omaha, Neb.), Eliza Christensen (Bonney Lake, Wash.), and Riley Stock (Bellevue, Neb.) in the Bruins' 2021 recruiting class.
Bellevue wrapped up a 12-4-0 season at the A.I.I. Tournament over the weekend, falling in heart-breaking fashion in the semifinal against Georgia Gwinnett College. The season represented a six-win improvement from 2019, highlighted by wins over a pair of National Tournament qualifiers in Concordia University and Kansas Wesleyan University.
