WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. -- Marilia Lages scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Bellevue University women's soccer team to a 4-0 win at Williams Baptist University on Monday morning.

Bellevue improves to 8-2-0 on the year while the Eagles drop to 1-8-0 with their fourth-straight loss.

Lages scored in both the 16th and 41st minutes, adding an assist on Maddy Vasquez's goal in the 36th minute as the Bruins took a 3-0 lead into halftime. The goal from Vasquez was the first of her career while Lages took over the team lead with her fifth and sixth tallies of the season.

BU out-shot their hosts 11-1 in the first half and finished with a 22-2 edge in shots on the day.

Sinai Bernal added a 51st minute strike to put the game away early in the second half. It was her second goal in as many games.

Sabrina Staufenbiel stopped both shots she was tasked with in goal for her sixth, and the team's eighth, shutout of the year.

Paige Carlyle totaled 10 saves in net for the Eagles.

"It's always great to win but we're disappointed how we conducted ourselves mentally and didn't play to our standards. We were slow moving the ball and should have killed the game sooner."

Bellevue travels to Sterling, Kan. on Saturday, Feb. 27 to face Sterling College (0-7-0) with kickoff scheduled for noon from the SC Soccer Field.
