FOREST CITY, Iowa -- Millie Hopkisson scored the game's lone goal to lead the Bellevue University women's soccer team, playing a man down for the final hour, to a 1-0 win over Waldorf University on Wednesday evening.

In a slow-to-develop first half that saw each team record just one shot on goal, Waldorf caught the first break as Bellevue keeper Sabrina Staufenbiel was sent off following a controversial red card in the 31st minute.
Jayda Noble came on to replace Staufenbiel in goal and Waldorf's ensuing free kick went high over the cross bar and the remainder of the half did not see another shot recorded as the game entered halftime scoreless.
The Bruins finally broke through in the 77th minute when Millie Hopkisson scored unassisted to give BU the lead.
The Bellevue defense made the lead stand up, allowing just one more shot and conceding two corners the rest of the way.
Noble finished with a pair of saves to earn the win in her first collegiate appearance in goal.
Sara Rodriguez totaled three saves in goal for Waldorf.

Morgan McIlnay was class with her mature performance that helped limit Waldorf to create chances. Millie Hopkisson was rewarded with a goal after her consistent displays all year and Jayda Noble producing a world class save to keep us in the game.
