Weyant nabs A.I.I. Player of the Week Award

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University sophomore Emily Weyant (Omaha, Neb.) has been named the Association of Independent Institution's Women's Soccer Player of the Week as announced by the A.I.I. office.

This week's Player of the Week Award encompassed games played from Sept. 10-16.

Weyant has helped the Bruins to a 3-2-0 record this season and the team is currently on a three-game win streak in which they have out-scored their opposition by a 19-3 margin.

Weyant currently ranks second in the A.I.I. in goals scored, fourth in goals per game, and fifth in points. On the season she has totaled four goals – tied for the team lead – and one assist for nine points while appearing in four of Bellevue's five games.

She scored a goal and added an assist in BU's 4-3 win over Concordia (Neb.) on Sept. 11 before going on to score a hat trick – the first by a Bruin since 2015 – in the Bruins' 11-0 win over College of Saint Mary on Sept. 15.
