AURORA, Colo. -- Lays Freitas scored the game's only goal to lead the Bellevue University women's soccer team past Johnson & Wales University, 1-0, on Monday afternoon at Aurora Sports Park in the Johnson & Wales Invite.

Bellevue went 6-1-0 in the month of September to turn a slow start into a 7-3-0 record headed into the season's stretch run. Johnson & Wales falls to 4-5-1 with the loss.

BU out-shot JWU 10-3 (4-3 on goal) in the first 45 minutes but had to settle for taking the Freitas goal as their only reward into halftime.

Laurence Rodier (W, 6-2-0) got the start in goal, making three saves to earn the victory and her third shutout.

Katelyn Peters took the loss for the Wildcats. She made seven saves but the one time she was beaten made the difference on the afternoon.
