
SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Maiwut Dar and Marilia Lages each scored a goal as the visiting Bellevue University women's soccer team recorded a 2-0 shutout victory at Morningside College Saturday night in non-conference action at Elwood Olsen Stadium on the Morningside campus.
The Bruins won their fourth-straight game, improving to 5-2 on the season. The Mustangs, who received votes in the latest NAIA top 25 poll, fell to 4-3 overall with the loss.
Assisted by Madison Lambert, Dar scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the first half at the 17:01 mark, giving BU a 1-0 advantage.
Neither team scored again until Lages added an insurance goal in the 80th minute. Dar was credited with the assist.
Laurence Rodier improved to 3-1 on the season, collecting eight saves while recording her first shutout of the season, playing all 90 minutes in goal.
Niccole McGuire (3-3) suffered the loss, giving up both goals while adding four saves in the losing effort.
The Bruins will travel to Hastings, Neb. on Wednesday, Sept. 20 for a 7 p.m. match at 17th-ranked Hastings College.
