Bruins sweep weekly NSAA women's soccer honors

MADISON, S.D. – The Bellevue University women's soccer team swept the third edition of the North Star Athletic Association Women's Soccer Player-of-the-Week honors for the week ending Sept. 10.  Maiwut Dar was chosen as the Offensive Player-of-the-Week, while her teammate Laurence Rodier was selected as the Defensive Player-of-the-Week.

Dar scored a total of three goals while adding an assist as the Bruins went 2-0 on the week with a 4-1 victory at Concordia (Neb.) and a 2-1 home win over Grand View. She also recorded four shots on goal for Bellevue. Dar leads the 2017 Bruins with four goals and an assist for nine points on the year.   

Rodier played all 180 minutes in goal last week in the Bruins' two victories.  She made a total of 11 saves and allowed just two goals in the two wins. Rodier has a 2-1 record on the year and a 1.82 goals-against-average.  

Bellevue (3-2) will travel across town to face College of St. Mary at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13 in Omaha.
