LA CROSSE, Wis. -- After falling twice to Viterbo University last season, the Bellevue University women's soccer team exacted some revenge in the form of a 2-1 victory over the V-Hawks in the NSAA-Opener for both teams on Sunday afternoon.

Bellevue is now 4-1-1 in their last six and improves to 6-4-1 overall (1-0-0 NSAA) while Viterbo is now winless in their last three games and falls to 4-6-1 overall (0-1-0 NSAA).

The Bruins handed Viterbo their first home loss of the year as the V-Hawks had won their previous eight contests played on their home turf dating back to Sept. 11, 2015.

Madison Lambert put the Bruins on the board in the 14th minute with her third goal of the season. Jordyn Seidel sent a pass along the endline and Lambert sent a touch past the keeper's left.

Macey Maulbetsch scored the lone Viterbo goal of the match in the 71st minute. The goal, scored off a free kick from 28 yards out, was unassisted.

With the score level in the 85th minute, Michelle Dolder sent Bellevue ahead with the eventual game-winner off a pass from Reyvin Hernandez. Hernandez sent a pass up through midfield to Dolder who took one touch and beat the keep for her third goal of the season and second game-winner.

Laurence Rodier made six saves on seven shots on goal for the Bruins to earn the victory. Viterbo's Katie Meyer stopped four shots in a losing effort. Shots were even in this one with each side recording 12 and Viterbo holding a narrow 7-6 edge in shots on goal. Corners went 7-5 in favor of Bellevue.

The Bruins return home on Wednesday, Oct. 12 for Alumni Day when they host College of Saint Mary at 4 p.m. at Bellevue Soccer Club.
